Visit the two in-door museums depicting life on the Plains during the American pioneer movement and westward expansion periods. The exhibits include Indians, pioneers, railroad, agriculture, Victorian and cow-town eras. See how life was for those brave settlers that crossed the land to make their homes in uncharted land in the 1800’s. Not only are there displays inside there are more outside including a 1901 Packard Carousel.
Museum of Independent Telephony is the other museum at this site. You can follow the development of the telephone industry. Guided tours are offered to take you through the history of the telephone development in Abilene where United Telephone got it’s start and Sprint has a headquarters.

Hours: Open all year:
Winter hours: Monday - Friday 9 - 3
Saturday: 10 - 5 and Sunday 1 - 5
During the summer there are extended hours with Monday - Friday being 9-5 and until 8 on Saturdays.
Admission: $4 for those 16 and older, Seniors 62 and over $3, Carousel rides are extra. Children 2-15 $2 each which includes the carousel. Carousel rides are $2 per person.
